Lab Assignments
These assignments are to be considered homework. We may have time to start them in class, but not always. Their purpose is to show that you have learned the current course material. These assignments are due by the date and time specified and will be turned in using Blackboard.
LA #9: Maintaining a Database
Due: within 30 minutes into class on Mon, Nov 5 (for Sections 7 & 9);within 30 minutes into class on Tues, Nov 6 (for Section 13)
Purpose: To explore an Access and learn how to maintian a database.
Complete Lab 1 on AC 199-200. Submit your revised database to blackboard.
LA #8: Querying a database
Due: by the start of class on Mon, Oct 29 (for Sections 7 & 9);by the start of class on Tues, Oct 30 (for Section 13)
Purpose: To explore how to query and access database.
Complete Lab 1 on AC 131-132. Submit your revised database to blackboard.
LA #7: Creating and Using a Database
Due: by the start of class on Mon, Oct 22 (for Sections 7 & 9);by the start of class on Tues, Oct 23 (for Section 13)
Purpose: To explore and create an Access Database.
Complete Lab 1 on AC 67-68. Submit your revised database to blackboard.
LA #6: What-if Analysis, Charting and Working with Large Worksheets
Due: 15 minutes before class on Mon, Oct 15 (for Sections 7 & 9);15 minutes before class on Tues, Oct 16 (for Section 13)
Purpose: To explore an Excel worksheet What-if Analysis, Charting and Working with Large Worksheets.
Complete Lab 2 Part 1 up to step 25 on EX 237-240. You will be submitting your worksheets to blackboard.
LA #5: Formulas, Functions, Formatting and Web Queries
Due: 15 minutes before class on Mon, Oct 8 (for Sections 7 & 9);15 minutes before class on Tues, Oct 9 (for Section 13)
Purpose: To explore Excel worksheet Formulas, Functions, Formatting and Web Queries
Complete Lab 1 for Part 1 up to step 16 on EX 149-151. You will be submitting your worksheet to blackboard.
LA #4: Creating a Worksheet and an Embedded Chart
Due: 15 minutes before class on Mon, Oct 1 (for Sections 7 & 9);15 minutes before class on Tues, Oct 2 (for Section 13)
Purpose: To create an Excel worksheet with an embedded chart.
There are two possibilities for this assignment. You need only choose ONE of the following to submit via blackboard:
- Complete Lab 3 on EX 77-79. You will be submitting your worksheets to blackboard.
Note: you should be submitting 3 worksheets, one for each part. When the book says "print" you should save. - Create two tables and associated charts. Make sure you use Place the data in appropriate rows and columns, create totals for each column and a grad total. Format the worksheet title, column headings and data using the concepts presented in this chapter.
